Optical By-pass, is as an option necessary in case the helmsman’s position in the wheelhouse is not right below the compass binnacle, the maximum length of the horizontal by-pass can be 6meter and that of the total optical arrangement below the binnacle based up to 7 meter.
The by-pass channel can be orientated to ahead, aft, cross or each direction between. The aperture has to be ahead of the helmsman. The helmsman must look in ahead direction into the mirror head.
